Postdoctoral Applicants

The University of North Carolina and the Research Triangle Park area are widely recognized as outstanding centers for biochemistry, chemical biology, and biomedical research. Postdoctoral colleagues in the Weeks lab participate in a rich, multidisciplinary, and collegial environment. This postdoctoral mentoring environment leads to consistent opportunities to achieve independent faculty positions or leadership roles in biotechnology companies. The town of Chapel Hill has a dynamic and humane environment, offers outstanding opportunities for coastal and mountain recreation, and is routinely ranked as one of the best cities in which to live in the US.

Please send a cover letter, CV, and the names of three references to:

Kevin Weeks
Department of Chemistry, CB-3290
University of North Carolina
Chapel Hill, NC 27599-3290

Undergraduate students at UNC can join our lab and earn academic credit in the Chemistry Department’s CHEM 395 program. Undergraduates participate in the Undergraduate Transcriptome Project (the UTP) in which students are mentored to develop their own research projects. Many undergraduate projects in our lab have resulted in publications.

We expect undergraduates to devote a minimum of 12 hours per week to research and thinking in our lab.

Rising sophomores or juniors should email Dr. Weeks with their CV and a brief note outlining their research interests, broadly defined.
